Our areas of expertise include:
Endocrine and metabolic health
Sports Nutrition for all ages, including adolescents
PCOS and hormonal conditions

Fertility and pregnancy nutrition
Gastrointestinal conditions including IBS and IBD
Complex weight and metabolic management, including weight loss surgery
Our Approach
We believe complexity deserves to be understood, not simplified.
Our clinicians prioritise:
Safety, dignity, and long-term wellbeing over trends or quick fixes
Collaborative, respectful communication within medical care teams
Sustainable change grounded in biology, lived experience, and context
Evidence-based practice delivered with empathy and clarity
We recognise that food, weight, and health are influenced by physiology, environment, culture, and personal history. Rather than rigid plans or prescriptive rules, we provide structured, individualised strategies designed to support long-term metabolic health and confident decision-making.
Our Commitment
At Balance Nutrition, trust is built through consistency, integrity, and transparency. We practise within scope, seek supervision when needed, and refer early to ensure clients receive the right care at the right time.
Our vision is to reshape how nutrition care feels, ensuring complexity is respected, collaboration is standard, and clients feel genuinely supported in their health journey.
Located within Toowoomba Endocrine & Diabetes alongside Dr Sheila Cook and her team, we support integrated care where communication and clinical reasoning matter.
HOW IT WORKS
Initial Consultation
This is where your personal nutrition journey begins. Your accredited practising Dietitian will identify and calculate what your individual requirements are to ensure that you receive personalised care from the very beginning.
As opposed to a quick fix, we pride ourselves in the detail and quality of service we offer you. We conduct thorough investigations and dive into your concerns and motivations to address the root cause of your nutrition issue.
We Will Discuss
· Your medical conditions
· Relevant biochemistry or blood test results
· Your medications and supplements
· A comprehensive dietary assessment
· A lifestyle assessment
· Review of your personal goals
Please bring details of any medications, nutritional supplements or blood test results that you have to your initial appointment or request your doctor to forward your results to us.
It is also beneficial to record your food intake for a few days prior to the appointment to support your assessment.
We will send a copy of our report to your doctor and specialists (as required) to advise them of your treatment plans.
Follow Through
A nutrition plan will be negotiated at the initial appointment, containing a meal plan if required. Ongoing review consultations will be recommended as creating and sustaining healthy habits is necessary to reach any health goal. Review consultations are used to touch base, celebrate the wins, troubleshoot ongoing concerns and provide an opportunity for ongoing education and counselling. As a guideline, clients usually consider a total of eight consultations over a 6 to 12 month timeframe.
